Manchester, Jul 16 (UNI) England were 29/1 at Lunch against the West Indies on Day 1 of the second Test match at the Old Trafford on Thursday.
Earlier, after a rain delay, West Indies captain Jason Holder won the toss and chose to bowl first, to take advantage of the overcast conditions.
However, England openers Dominic Sibley and Rory Burns looked solid and managed to see off 13 overs of the Windies' pacers, who failed to scalp a wicket, despite some good bowling.
It was spinner Roston Chase, who came to the rescue and gave the visitors a much-needed breakthrough by trapping Burns in front wicket for 15.
At Lunch, Sibley was at the crease for England.
Brief Scores: England: 29/1 (Burns 15; Chase 1/1) vs West Indies
