Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 8 (UNI) Riding over Shivam Dube's 54 and Rishabh Pant's unbeaten 33, India managed to post a moderate total of 170 for 7 against West Indies in the second T20 International of the three-match series at the Sports Hub Stadium, here on Sunday.
India lost their first wicket in the third over as KL Rahul (11) was caught by Hetmyer in the bowling of Khary Pierre at the score of 24.
Shivam Shivam Dube joined Rohit Sharma and the pair tried to give momentum to the score board. But they have to wait till the eighth over to find the gallary. Sivam Dube smashed it high over the mid-wicket for the maximum.
As in the previous match, Rohit Sharma was not successful to tame the Caribbian bowling. He struggled to get going and missed to connect Jason Holder and the ball hit the wicket. Rohit departed with 15 off 18.
After Rohit's wicket, Kohli joined Shivam Dube. Dube punished Windies Skipper Pollard to three sixes back to back and made a quick 50 to give momentum to India's total while Kohli anchored the innings from the other end.
However, the combination didn't last long. Shivam tried to loft Walsh but wasn't able to connect well and skewed it high towards Hetmyer.
Skipper Kohli can't encore his last match's presentation and was dismissed by Williams. He put it short and slow outside off and Kohli's shot ended in the hands of Simmons with 19 off 17 balls.
Rishabh Pant made the much needed quick 33 off 22 and keep the Skippers confidence over him.
For Windies, Kesrick Williams and Hayden Walsh claimed two wickets each.
