New Delhi, Mar 31 (UNI) A total of 24 people who were present at a religious congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz in the National Capital have been tested positive for COVID-19, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Tuesday.
The Minister said that despite the lockdown, holding the congregation is a serious crime and strict action has been recommended to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.
The Minister said 1,500 to 1,700 people have assembled at Markaz building.
A total of 1033 people have been evacuated out of which 334 of them have been sent to different
hospitals and around 700 people have been sent to quarantine center.
Around 200 persons were on Monday taken to different hospitals for coronavirus testing from the Tableegi Jamat Markaz in the Nizamuddin area of South East Delhi, after six people were tested positive for the virus in the same area.
