2 persons from Nagaland get Dr. Kalam award in Delhi

Kohima, Jan 15 (UNI) Dr Vikuotuolie Angami and Hotoshe Sema from Nagaland were awarded with the prestigious ‘Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Excellence Award’ by Meira Kumar, former Speaker of Lok Sabha, in a glittering ceremony held at India International Centre in New Delhi yesterday.
According to information received today, the India International Friendship Society (IIFS), in its conference on ‘Economic growth and national integration,’ honoured some successful meritorious India personalities who have specialised in various fields such as science and technology, education, industry, fine arts, politics and social work and have rendered yeoman services for the growth of the nation.
Prominent national leaders like Bhisma Narayan Singh, former Governor of Tamil Nadu; Maj. Ved Prakash of ACCI; Jammu and Kashmir Speaker also spoke on the theme of the conference. It may be noted that Dr Vikuotuolie Angami is the retired engineer in chief of Nagaland PWD and now a renowned social and religious worker and a recipient of many awards. Hotoshe Sema, a school teacher in a remote area, is a tireless social worker in addition to his profession and a recipient of awards like Bharat Jyoti, National and Global Teacher Awards, sources said.
