Jammu, Mar 3 (UNI) Four persons including a two-month old child were killed and two others suffered injuries when mud houses collapsed due to a landslide triggered by heavy rains in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police here on Sunday said that in the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday, a woman and her three daughters died while they were asleep.
“Due to inclement weather conditions, the mud house of Mohammad Farid collapsed in remote village Kunderdhan Morha Band in Chassana belt,” police said.
They said that a woman identified as Phalla Akther, 30, wife of Mohammad Farid and daughters namely Nasima Akther,5, Safeen Kousar,3 and Samreen Kousar (2 months) died on the spot.
However, in a separate house collapse incident one Kalu, 60 and his wife Bano Begum, 58 sustained injuries.
Police along with SDRF team rushed to the spot and launched the rescue and rehabilitation of the injured.
