2 convicted in power theft case in Thane

Thane, Feb 20 (UNI) A local court here has convicted two people, flour mill owners from Bhiwandi, in power theft case.
Thane District judge P P Jadhav on Monday convicted the duo Ramdev Jokhumal Yadav (50) and Mohammad Akram Imamali Ansari (60).
The court also slapped a fine of Rs 1,90,000 and Rs 2,10,000 under Section 135 of the Electricity Act, 2003 on them.
Additional Public Prosecutor Vivek G Kadu told the court that the officials/engineers of the MSEDCL conducted the inspection of the meters of the duo on September 18 and 22, 2006, respectively and found that the meters were tampered with.
