2,721 clearance by industry dept in last 6 months in UP

Lucknow, Sep 18 (UNI) The single window portal, launched by the Uttar Pradesh government has issued 2,721 clearances within the specified timelines in last six months. This is 78 per cent of the applications the total received so far from the investors and entrepreneurs.
Presently 742 applications were under process. The single window portal, an important component of 'Ease of doing business' (EODB) was launched during the UP investors summit here in February.
The special Secretary, Infrastructure and Industrial Development department Arun Kumar on Monday chaired a meeting of nodal officers of 20 departments, who have been nominated for efficient implementation of single window portal.
He asked the nodal officers to ensure that applications for issuing clearances were accepted through Single Window Portal exclusively and entrepreneurs should not be made to run around department offices under any circumstances. Nodal officers were directed to assist applicants in filling the form through phone.

He said that the department concerned could ask the entrepreneur for review or any query regarding submitted application within 7 working days after submission of application.
All departmental nodal officers were directed to identify non-hazardous services, for which deemed approval could be issued. Additionally, sub-services, such as inspections, will also be identified which could be outsourced to third party.

It may be noted that State’s single window portal has been improved and strengthened to offer facility for providing 69 services of 20 departments.
The departments include Labour, Stamp & Registration, Forest, Environment, Public Works, Food Safety & Drugs Administration, Energy, Urban Development, Housing, Revenue, Excise, Legal Metrology, Registrar- Firms, Societies & Chits, Electrical Inspectorate, Fire, and UP State Industrial Development Corporation (UPSIDC), Pradeshiya Industrial & Investment Corporation (PICUP), NOIDA, Greater NOIDA and Yamuna Expressways Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).
