Auckland, Jan 24 (UNI) Half centuries by KL 56 off 27, Shreyas Iyer not out 58 off 29 and skipper Virat Kohli 45 off 32 helped India beat New Zealand by 6 wickets in the first T20 of the five-match series taking 1-0 lead here on Friday.
Earlier India won the toss and invited New Zealand to bat.
Colin Munro (59 off 42), Ross Taylor (54 off 27) and skipper Kane Williamson (51 off 26), New Zealand scored 203-5 setting a target of 204 runs to win in reply India won the match by six wickets with six balls remaining.
