18 Naxals held, 1 surrender in Chhattisgarh's Bastar division

Raipur, Sep 30 (UN) As many as 18 Naxals were today arrested by security personnel in separate combing operations in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur and Bijapur district, while another rebel surrendered to police in Kondagaon, police said.
"In Narayanpur, 13 Naxals -- including Kilam's Dandakaranya Adivasi and Kisan Mazdoor Sangh (DAKMS) president Patturam Sori -- were arrested from Kilam forest under Chotedongar Police Station limits during a joint search operation by District Force and Special Task Force personnel," Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena told UNI.
Mr Sori was carrying a reward of Rs one lakh on his arrest. The arrested rebels, who were active members of Kilam Jan Militia, were wanted in connection with half-a-dozen cases of Naxal ambush on police parties, attempt to murder, dacoity, loot and arson in the district.
