171 gram panchayats in Nanded to go to polls tomorrow

Nanded, Oct 6 (UNI) Voting for the 171 gram panchayats in the
district will be held tomorrow.
As in 22 gram panchayats the members have been elected unaminously,
hence there will be no voting, but in the remaining 149 gram
panchayats voting will be held from 0730 hours in the morning till
1730 hrs in evening tomorrow. The counting of votes will be done on
October 9.
The tehsil-wise number of gram panchayat is as such Mahur-25, Kinwat
-38, Himayat Nagar-1, Hadgaon-5, Aradhapur-2, Nanded-6, Bhokar-3,
Umri-1, Dharma-3, Biloli-8, Naigaon-6, Loha-26, Kandhar-13 and
Mukhed-12.
The sarpanch will be elected directly from the entire voters. For
this post, 416 candidates are in fray and for membership 204
candidates are contesting the election.
For the purpose of voting 531 booths have been erected all over the
district, of which 59 are said to be sensitive. For smooth election
process 63 election officers, as many assistant election officers,
47 regional officers and 2,412 voting officers have been deployed,
an official said.
Police vigil will be maintained to thwart any untoward incident.
