17 countries give consent to telecast films in Int'l Short Film Festival

Chandigarh, Feb 17 (UNI) As many as 17 countries have given their consent so far to telecast their films in the first-ever Haryana International Short Film Festival which will be organised as a part of the Swarna Jayanti celebrations of Haryana in Kurukshetra from April 13 to 16.
The celebration will be attended by various noted actors, directors and television artistes.
Stating this today, an official spokesman said that 60 films including eight feature films, 40 short films, 10 music videos and one Irani film ‘Children of Heaven’ would be telecast based on various topics such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Abhiyan, cultural heritage of the state and other topics.
The best films would be awarded on the last day of the festival.
Various talent search programmes like singing, music and folk dances would also be organised .
The best artists in these competitions would be honoured Noted actors and directors like Manoj Bajpayee, Yashpal Sharma, Ms Meghna Malik, Ashwini Chaudhary, Govind Namdev, Raghubir Yadav, Ms Mita Vashisht, Jaideep Ahlawat, Ms Sumitra Padnekar and others would attend the film festival.
The spokesman said that as per the directions of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the film festival was being organised to promote the cultural heritage of Kurukshetra and Haryanvi culture.
He said that the film festival would be organised jointly by Kurukshetra district administration and Sanskrit Society for Art and Cultural Development in the premises of Multi Art Cultural Centre, Kurukshetra.
