17 AIMIM activists booked for setting alight cabin of MSEDCL's engineer

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 7 (UNI) The City Chowk Police on Saturday lodged cases against 17 AIMIM activists including the party Aurangabad central MLA Imitaz Jaleel and city chief Dr Gaffar Kadri
in connection of torching the cabin of chief engineer of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) during protest against the emergency load-shedding enforced
across the state including the city.
According to the police, the first information report stated here that total 17 members of party including MLA Jaleel and city chief Dr Kadari along with 15 city corporators were booked under the
sections of 353, 143 of Indian Penal Code and Bombay Police Act.
AIMIM activists, led by MLA Jaleel, took out a rally on Friday to the MSEDCL head office demanding that the load-shedding in the city be withdrawn.
When they reached the office to meet chief engineer Suresh Ganeshkar, he was not present in his cabin and on his behalf one of the officials accepted the memorandum of their demand.
Irate activists raised slogans and in a fit of rage, they allegedly manhandled one of the on duty woman security guard and also torched the cabin of the chief engineer, damaging furniture and air conditioner therein.
