Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Jan 20 2016 2:33PM 15 fishermen sentenced to jail for fishing illegally in Gahirnatha sanctuaryKendrapada, Jan 20 (UNI) Fifteen fishermen were arrested and later sent to jail on charges of trespassing into the 'no fishing zone' of Gahirmatha sanctuary with fishing vessels for catching fish illegally near Ekakula. The forest personnel intercepted three fishing vessels,including two trawlers and one gill-netter, seized 5 quintals of fish catch and arrested 15 fishermen yesterday, Forester of Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary Manas Ranjan Das today said. All the arrested fishermen were produced before the JMFC court of Rajnagar under the of Wildlife Protection Act and the Orissa Marine Fishing Regulation Act (OMFRA).
