144th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda observed in Tripura district

Ambassa(Tripura), Nov 15 (UNI) The 144th birth anniversary of the legendary tribal leader Birsa Munda was observed with pomp and gaiety in the Munda dominated Kartikgram in Dhalai district, here today.
The day has been observed after the initiative of the Gyanjyoti Social and Cultural organisation through discussion and cultural programmes.
In the programme local MLA Asis Das, social activist Babulal Munda and others have remained present. While discussing on the life and works of Birsa, Mr Das said, "The Munda rebellion has been marked as a significant incident in the history of freedom aspiring India against exploitation and domination and true evaluation of Birsa Munda was yet to be done. More importantly, the Munda community needs more opportunities to make his dreams true. We all should know and follow his life and works for the growth of our selves and for our nation".
