142.79 lakh tonnes paddy procured in Punjab

Chandigarh, Nov 12 (UNI) The Government agencies and private millers have procured 1,42,79,707.3 metric tonnes of paddy in Punjab till Sunday while payment worth Rs 21,071.69 crore has been transferred to the accounts of arthias/farmers by the government.
Stating this here today, an official spokesman informed that out of the total procurement from various procurement centres in the state, the government agencies procured 1,41,91,078.3 metric tonnes of paddy while 88,629 metric tonnes has been procured by the millers.
He said that PUNGRAIN has procured 49,26,652 tonnes, MARKFED 32,77,479 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 29,48,913 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 13,39,237 and 14,79,620.3 metric tonnes paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 2,19,177 metric tonnes paddy.
