14 youth spreading rumours about braid chopping arrested in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 21 (UNI) As many as 14 youth allegedly involved in spreading rumours about braid chopping incidents to instigate violence were arrested in this summer capital, a police spokesperson said here.
He said eight persons were arrested from Batamaloo civil lines while six others were held from Noorbagh of Maharaj Gunj in the city in different raids by the police.
He said these miscreants were spreading rumours about braid chopping and were causing panic among the people. “They were taking advantage of braid chopping incidents to instigate general public for protest and stone pelting,” he added.
