14-year-old boy asks for euthanasia, administration conducts inquiry

Bhagalpur, Jul 17 (UNI) The 14 year old boy Krish Raj Mitra was so much mentally and emotionally tormented by growing distance between his parents due to his mother's wish to climb the ladder of success in her banking career at any cost that he expressed his willingness and asked for euthanasia and even wrote letters to the President and the Prime Minister for fulfilment of his wish.
Bhagalpur district magistrate Pranav Kumar said that the district administration had completed its probe into the matter. He said arrangement had been made for the counselling of the boy. Kahalgaon sub-divisional officer and deputy police superintendent had been directed to review the security of boy from time to time, he added.
Mr Kumar said Krish was presently living with his grandfather who retired from the post of a driver in National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). He said the relationship between Krish's father and mother was also under scanner. He said all other aspects were also being investigated.
