Shillong, Oct 11 (UNI) Meghalaya on Sunday reported 139 new COVID-19 cases, taking the number of active cases to 2478, while one more person succumbed to the viral infection pushing the fatality count to 63, health officials said.
On the other hand, the ongoing night curfew has been extended throughout the state from October 12 to 19 from 9 pm to 5 am each day “in order to put in place preventive and mitigation measures so the pandemic of COVID-19 is contained, reduced and eliminated”, an official order issued on Sunday said.
Director Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said that the deceased was identified as Samarjeet Gupta (65) of Mahendraganj in South West Garo Hills district.
