13 policemen booked for not vacating govt residences in UP

Jaunpur, Feb 22 (UNI) A case against 13 policemen was registered by the Kotwali In-charge Inspector Pawan Kumar Upadhyaya for maintaining the possession of government residences for years despite being transferred to other districts while also accusing them of damage to state property, police said on Saturday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Kumar said that Kotwali In-charge Inspector Pawan Kumar Upadhyaya gave a written complaint that despite being transferred to other places, Sub-Inspector Indra Bahadur Singh (presently deployed at Pratapgarh), Head Constable Saroj Ahmed (presently posted at Ballia), Indradev Mishra, Om Prakash Pal, Balendra Yadav, Constable Raj Kishor Yadav (presently deployed at Varanasi), Sitaram Pandey (presently posted at Prayagraj), Santosh Verma (presently posted at Mau), Maya Shankar Singh (presently deployed at Ballia), Anil Singh (presently deployed in Azamgarh), Head Constable Rama Shankar (presently deployed in Ghazipur), Kamlesh Yadav (presently deployed at GRP, Akbarpur), Virendra Yadav (presently deployed in Ayodhya), are in unauthorised possession of the government residences made in Kotwali premises and the Police Chowki Bhandari premises.
He said that despite repeated directions and notices to vacate the government residences which were now in a dilapidated condition, they were not vacated.
This act of damage to the state property comes under a criminal tendency.
