1208 candidates in fray for the third phase of Bihar Assembly elections

Patna, Oct 24 (UNI) Altogether 1208 candidates were in the fray for 78 assembly seats out of total 243 slated for a poll in the third phase of the three-phased Bihar assembly election to be held on November 7.
Additional Chief Electoral officer Sanjay Kumar Singh said here today that after the expiry of the deadline for withdrawal 1208 candidates were left in the fray.
He said that 1412 nominations were filed and after scrutiny 162 nominations were declared invalid and 41 withdraw their papers by the last day of withdrawal after which 1208 candidates were now contesting.
