12 child labours rescued from Saharsa railway station, broker arrested

Saharsa, Jun 20 (UNI) Railway police of East Central Railway (ECR) today rescued 12 child labours from the clutches of a middleman at Saharsa railway station.

Railway police said they had received the information that some children were being taken to Punjab by train for working as labourers.
In this connection, a joint team of Railway police and Child Line conducted raid at Saharsa junction. During which they found 12 child labours on platform number 04 of Saharsa Junction and rescued them and arrested the broker.

Sources said that the broker has been identified as Pappu, a native of Barari police station area in Katihar district. The rescued children are in the age group of 10 to 15 years and are natives of Saharsa, Madhepura, Katihar and Araria districts. The children had been sent to Child Line.
