11 members elected uncontested to Karnataka Legislative Council from Assembly

Bengaluru, June 4 (UNI) Eleven members, including five from the BJP, were elected unopposed to the Karnataka Legislative Council from the State Assembly on Monday.
Among others, four belonged to the Congress and two to the Janata Dal (secular).
Today was the last date for withdrawal for applications and the polls scheduled for June 11. However, they were declared elected as there was no contest.
The elected members were: Ravi Kumar, Tejaswini Gowda, Raghunath Rao Malkapure, K P Nanjundi and Rudre Gowda (all BJP), C M Ibrahim, K Goivinda Raj, Arvind Kumar, Hrish Kumar (Congress) and F M Farook and S L Byre Gowda (JDS).
Mr Malkapure, Mr Ibrahim and Mr Govind Raj would be serving second term of six years as they were among the 11 who would be retiring on June 17.

Srinagar, Oct 22 (UNI) Asserting that voting will be held between 0800 hrs to 1400 hrs during the nine-phased Panchayat polls following less number of electorates, J&K Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Shaleen Kabra on Monday said that the results will be declared on the same day of polling.
