1020 Bangladesh armed forces member infected COVID-19

Dhaka, May 23 (UNI) A total of 1,364 members of Bangladesh Armed Forces including those who are currently serving and those who have retired and their families have been found to be infected with COVID-19, as on Saturday.
Till today 1,020 out of these 1,364 members of Armed Forces both in service and retired have been admitted to Dhaka CMH for treatment.
Among them, 421 infected patients have fully recovered, while 10 have died, and 933 patients admitted in various Combined Medical Hospitals (CMHs) are healthy, declared a media release of Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR) Directorate today.
Among those who died, eight are retired and were more than 60 years in age and two were serving army personnel informed the ISPR release.
There are 13 RT-PCR machines at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) and CMHs of other cantonments for the Corona virus testing of members of the Armed Forces both in- service and retired and their families. Besides, adequate number of PPEs, masks, gloves and necessary medicine are in stock, the ISPR press release assured.
A total of 7,410 samples have been tested in PCR labs of 4,375 members of the Armed Forces, 774 families and 2,261 civilians and others till today.
Full-time trained physicians of the Army have been administering treatment to the patients while maintaining all health guidelines, the ISPR media release added.
