10 lakh plants would be planted in 'World Herbal Forest' in current monsoon season: Vij

Chandigarh, Jun 12 (UNI) Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij has said that in the current monsoon season, 10 lakh plants of 20 varieties would be planted in the 'World Herbal Forest' which is being developed in the Morni hills.
Presiding over a meeting to develop the World Herbal Forest here today, Mr Vij said that the state government, with the support of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar, would develop this forest on about 52,000 acres of land in the Morni hills.
In this forest, about 25 different varieties of plants found in the country, including harad, haldi, behda, amala, rudraksh and arjun, would be planted. In the first phase, the forest department would plant 50,000 plants each of 20 medicinal varieties.
