10,000 hectares area to be converted into organic farming: Governor

Panaji, Jan 26 (UNI) Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik on Sunday urged every citizen of the state to keep up the spirit of unity and maintain the peace, communal harmony in the state.
Speaking after unfurling tricolour at state level function held at Parade Ground in the city, he appealed to people to put forth best efforts in spirit of comradeship, co-operation, dedication and dynamism towards achieving the ideals imbibed in the constitution. The Governor said Goa was one of the fastest growing states in the country which had well developed social, physical, industrial, tourism, sports infrastructure and virtual connectivity. It had significant port infrastructure and would soon get its own international airport, which would boost the tourism industry in the state and help socio -economic development in the region, he said.
