New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) A total of 1,023 Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs) will be set up for expeditious trial and disposal of rape cases and cases under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Giving this information during Question Hour, Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Zubin Irani told the Lok Sabha on Friday in a written reply that the total estimated cost was Rs 767.25 crore, of which the Central share was Rs 474 crore.
"It has been proposed to set up 218 FTSCs in Uttar Pradesh," she told the Lower House, saying the decision of the state government in this regard was awaited.
