'Will boycott varsity polls if all 28,000 students not allowed to vote': NSUI Goa

Panaji, Aug 14 (UNI) National Students Union of India (NSUI) Goa on Wednesday said that it would boycott University Elections if all the 28,000 students in the state were not allowed to vote.
In a statement, NSUI Goa President Ahraz Mulla said NSUI Goa would be boycotting the university elections of Goa if all the 28,000 students in Goa were not allowed to vote on August 16, 2019.
He alleged that the university under the pressure of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had been partial and allowing only the University Faculty Representatives (UFRs) who were majorly nominated by the faculty under the pressure of BJP.
''There have been student attacks across Goa, but there has never been a no solution to all these problems by the Chief Minister or the Vice Chancellor of Goa University. The NSUI is strongly against the current election system and will not be contesting if all the 28000 students are not allowed to vote, we are firm with this and will fight for a transformation in student elections until that we will be boycotting all GUSC elections,'' he said.
