'We are looking forward to take women force  into other cadres': Rawat

Hyderabad, Dec 15 (UNI) Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat on Saturday said that we are looking forward to take women force into other cadres as they are already in Armed Forces.

We are looking forward to take women force into other cadres like interpreters, Cyber specialists, accounts and audit services and we gradually expand the Indian army to women, General Rawat told reporters on the sidelines of the combined passing out parade held at Indian Air Force Academy here.

We are also expecting women to joinas soldiers in Military police service, he said and expressed happiness over the increase in number of women in the Air Force.

Earlier addressing after reviewing the Combined Graduate Parade of the air warriors at Air Force Academy here, he appreciated the parents who are sending their daughters to the Armed forces.

Complementing the officer trainees on the successful completion of their training, he said it is very heartening to see so many women cadets (24) being commissioned today.

As empowered women of our great nation, you are becoming a member of prestigious Armed Forces, which will act as a source of inspiration for others to look up to and emulate, General Rawat said.

A special appreciation for the Commandant and his Team at the Academy for transforming the young men and women into air warriors raring to take to the skies, he said as each one of you pursues your specific stream, be it flying or ground duty, remember that the need of the hour is “ technologically adept’ airmen, sailors and soldiers, congruent to the requirements of modern battlefield.

Concurrently, the primacy of soldiering leadership, morals and integrity remain supreme to the fabric of a Soldier, the Army Chief said.

The potent capabilities, especially the lethal punch of the Indian Air Force will continue to grow with infusion of new technology into the war fighting systems, he added.
