'The Disciple' by Chaitanya Tamhane wins Toronto Film Festival Award

New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) Chaitanya Tamhane's 'The Disciple' on Sunday won the award for the Best Feature Film by an under-represented filmmaker at the 45th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
'The Disciple', Tamhane's second feature film, won the Amplify Voices Award presented by Canada Goose. All feature films in official Selection, directed by Black and Indigenous People of Colour and Canadian filmmakers, were eligible for the Amplify Voices Awards.
The award carries a cash prize of 10,000 dollars (around Rs seven lakh).
