'Ramayanam', global trailer premiere to be held on July 24

New Delhi, Jul 19 (UNI) The makers of "Ramayanam", producer Namit Malhotra's ambitious cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic, formally launched the film's global campaign with a special event here ahead of its worldwide trailer premiere on July 24.
This special event, titled "Pratham Sankalp," marked the beginning of the film's global journey. In Indian tradition, Sankalp symbolises the commitment made before beginning any great endeavor.
The producers described it as a collective commitment to bring India's greatest cultural heritage, the Ramayana, to the world with authenticity, reverence, and a world-class cinematic presentation.
Present at the event were the film's director Nitesh Tiwari, producer and creative architect Malhotra, and the film's principal star cast.
The ceremony was attended by Arun Govil (King Dasharatha), Shobhana (Kaikeyi), Ajinkya Dev (Maharishi Vishwamitra), Kunal Kapoor (Devraj Indra), Rakul Preet Singh (Shurpanakha), and Ravi Dubey (Lakshman).
In the film, Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, and Yash plays Ravana. The ceremony was made even more special by the surprise appearance of actor Sunny Deol, who plays Lord Hanuman in the film.
The event also featured a special preview of the film's official trailer, which will have its worldwide premiere on July 24.
The Ramayan Schools program, conducted nationwide, highlighted the participation of over 500 schools and millions of children. select winners of the program were allowed to participate in the "Pratham Sankalp" ceremony.
Malhotra said that Ramayana is not just an epic, but an integral part of Indian life, traditions, and values.
He said that it has been his long-held dream to present India's great stories on the world's biggest stage, and "Ramayana" is an important step in that direction.
Tiwari said that the Ramayana is one of the world's greatest stories, whose power lies in its eternal values. He said that the entire team has strived to present this legacy with respect and authenticity.
The film "Ramayana: Part One" will release in theatres worldwide on the occasion of Diwali 2026.
