'Poor electricity supply' conditions of poll-bound UP figure in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, Feb 9 (UNI) The alleged poor conditions of power generation and supply in the poll-bound Uttar Pradesh state figured prominently in the Lok Sabha today with Power Minister Piyush Goyal making a veiled attack on the state government for not accepting to sign a MoU with the Centre to herald 100 per cent electrification.
Initially responding to supplementaries during Question Hour from BJP member Devusinh J Chauhan, the Minister said he would not like to name a particular state as election process was already on in the state and went onto add that "28 out of 29 states have agreed to work with the central project" to ensure 100 per cent electrification.
But amid demands from several BJP members that he (the Minister) should name the state, while some members like Sakshi Maharaj took the name of Uttar Pradesh, another BJP member reminded the Minister that he need not 'fear' as he would have the protection of the House.
