‎PM Modi, President Macron discuss West Asia tensions, stress urgent need for safe navigation in Strait of Hormuz ‎

‎New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said he had a telephonic conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, during which the two leaders discussed the evolving situation in West Asia and underscored the urgent need to ensure the safety and freedom of navigation in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. ‎
In a post on X, Modi described Macron as a “dear friend” and highlighted the shared concerns over regional stability.
“Received a phone call from my dear friend President Emmanuel Macron. We discussed the situation in West Asia and agreed on the need to urgently restore safety and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz,” he said. ‎
