New Delhi, Jan 4 (UNI) The BJP on Saturday condemned the attacks on Sikhs in Pakistan and said the episode at Nankana Sahib Gurudwara only proves that the Citizenship Amendment Act enacted by the Modi government is "right".
"...Whatever has happened in Pakistan justifies the necessity of an Act like CAA," BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi told reporters here.
The episode also "stresses the need for its immediate implementation", she said.
The Pakistan government and its agencies are part and parcel of the process of the discrimination against religious minorities including Christians and Sikhs, she said.
"Pakistan now proves that the CAA is right and it is timely," she said.
Another BJP leader Tarun Chugh, who hails from Punjab, flayed Congress leadership and other opposition parties for not attacking Pakistan.
"Why are these urban Naxals silent....Why Mamata Banerjee is silent," he said.
He said what happened in Nankana Sahib is like trailer as over the years religious minorities are being persecuted in Pakistan.
Mr Chugh also questioned the silence of Leftist leader and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan under whose leadership the state assembly had recently passed a resolution against the CAA.
