Bengaluru, Feb 11(UNI) Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker, Ramesh Kumar on Monday suggested to the State Government to set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to inquire into an audio-tape, allegedly containing corruption charges against the Speaker and others by Opposition leader B S Yeddyurappa, who is also BJP State President.
As soon as the members assembled to take up day's business, the Speaker, against whom the charges were made against him in the Audio Tape, raised the issue and informed the House that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had sent him a letter and also an audio tape, requesting for a probe into the incident.
Setting aside the Question Hour scheduled, the Speaker said that since the audio tape, in which the alleged conversation of few people had a reference to him, he sought the opinion of the house on the matter. The Chief Minister, while sending him the audio tape, also had sent the copies of it to the Media also, truth should come out and hence it is necessary for a probe on the issue.
