New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) Known for playing unconventional roles in movies, National award winning actor Rajkummar Rao who will be now seen as an antagonist in Hansal Mehta’s 'Omerta' , says they have made a brutally honest film and told the story without compromising on anything.

Talking to UNI, Rajkummar, who was in the national capital for the trailer launch of his upcoming movie 'Omerta' based on British-Pakistani terrorist Omar Saeed Sheikh, said,'I would just say that please come out and see our film. That is our expectation.'

'We have made a brutally honest film and we have told the story the way we wanted to tell it, without compromising on anything. So I hope people see our honesty and efficient work because it is a very different film and is quite intense in nature. Though it is quite disturbing, but that is also the truth of our society and that is something which is happening all around the world,' the 'Newton' fame actor said.

Whether 'Newton' entry in the Oscars affected his choice of movies, Rajkummar said,'No not at all. I started my career with some really unconventional films. So I never really believed in taking any such formula.'

Asked if 'Newton' has affected his market value, the 'Trapped' fame actor said,' I guess 'Newton' has definitely added to it. 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' and 'Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana' has done really well and that is also a flagship that people understand. So I think 'Newton' has definitely helped me in my career.'

The actor said playing Omar was the toughest thing.

'Trapped' was physically very tough but 'Omerta' was mentally too,' he said.

Asking how he handles stardom, Rajkummar said,'I don't handle it. I don't even think about it.'

'Omertà' is the horrifying true story of one of the most dreaded terrorists of our times. Shot in real locations across London and India while recreating Pakistan and Afghanistan the movie exposes the real and present danger of Pakistan sponsored terror.

Woven around some of the most bloody terror attacks in recent history including the 9/11 world trade center attacks, the Mumbai Terror Strike and the brutal beheading of American journalist Daniel Pearl, 'Omertà' is a thriller that looks into the journey of an evil mind.

The film premiered to excellent reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival 2017 followed by the Busan International Film Festival and a very successful screening of the Closing film at the Mumbai Film Festival 2017.

Presented by Swiss Entertainment and Karma Media, Produced by Nahid Khan and directed by Hansal Mehta, the flick is set to release on April 20.
