'No irregularities in Land acquisition: Kakinada SEZ management

Kakinada, Sep 30 (UNI) The Kakinada SEZ management on Sunday clarified that there were no irregularities as such in the lands acquisition process and it was done strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act.
In a statement released to the mediapersons here, the SEZ management claimed that the lands were already under their legal possession and the operations had already commenced, as such the question of farmers taking back their lands does not arise.
''The government has discussed the issue with the farmers several times and finally asked the SEZ management to pay Rs two lakh additionally to the lands already acquired paying Rs three lakh. It also asked to pay Rs six lakh additionally to the peasants, who did not accept the compensation to the acquired lands.
