'Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters' begins

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 2 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters at Kanakakkunnu palace here on Friday.
For the next three days, Kanakakkunnu Palace will witness a rare celebration of letters. Writer and parliamentarian Shashi Tharoor, who's also the patron of the literary festival, delivered the keynote address.
The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Matrubhumi Managing Director and writer MP Veerendrakumar.
Eminent poet Sugathakumari delivered felicitation address.
Chief Minister also give away prizes for the winners of the short story competition organised by Matrubhumi.
Matrubhumi Managing Editor PV Chandran honoured the guests.

Srinagar, Nov 22 (UNI) Challenging BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav to prove his allegation that the alliance with the PDP was formed at Pakistan's behest or apologies, National Conference (NC) vice- president Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that by this statement the BJP general secretary has disrespected the sacrifices of NC workers, who were killed for not dancing to the tunes of Pakistan.
