Bhopal, Nov 13 (UNI) The voters in Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's assembly constituency have complained about authoritarian regime in the Budhni segment and said they are maintaining silence against BJP because of fear factor, according to senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh.
"I have traveled for 11 days in Budhni region, slept in the village and spoke to people....met farmers. People have whispered into my ears and said they are scared. They are scared of Marshal law....In short, there is immense anguish against BJP," Mr Singh told reporters in the pradesh Congress office here.
Alluding to reported 'anguish' displayed by a segment of people to the Chief Minister Chouhan's wife Sadhna Singh on Monday, Mr Singh (last Congress CM who was voted out in 2003) said: "It is high time, the Chief Minister (Mr Chouhan) gets down from his helicopter. He will soon know the reality".
Ms Sadhna Singh had visited Budhni on Monday asking votes for husband Shivraj Singh Chouhan, but the residents complained that over the years, they were being ignored and that the areas did not see any development.
"People have ventilated their anguish against Chief Minister's wife already and if he visits Budhni, he will face the same wrath of the people," the former Chief Minister said.
According to a video that has gone viral, one woman gave the Chief Minister's wife a taste of people's unhappiness and said, “Madam aapne pyasa maar dia (Madam, you have killed us of thirst)”.
A visibly embarrassed Chief Minister's wife Ms Sadhna Singh was seen rather helplessly trying to assure her that the poor woman's issues will be resolved soon.
