'Let’s work together to build ‘Swasth Bharat’': Daaji

Panaji, Nov 13 (UNI) ‘Daaji’, the Fourth Guide of Heartfulness, on Tuesday called for India to grow into a healthy nation, both physically and mentally.
Speaking at the valedictory function of the two-day International Conference on Yoga for Public Health held in the city, Daaji said, “While our Young India is making rapid strides to become a Vibrant India, it is important for our country to emerge into a Healthy India for a strong future. Today we are focusing so much on healthy food, a balanced diet, natural medicines, Asana and Pranayama. While there is nothing wrong with that, as they are all good for us, we need to remember that the real source of life is not the body but the soul. Life force is within, and we need to nurture it. When we can find that stillness within, at the centre of our being, our soul, we are one with our life force. When we learn how to make that state permanent, no matter what we are doing, we will have stability and inner contentment.”
Talking about commercialization of Yoga, Daaji said, “Yoga offering is being converted into a market place! Do we wish to see a place where Yoga becomes transactional and commercial in nature? Yoga is a gift to humanity, and we have no need to stoop so low as to sell trinkets. God is not for sale. Today we can see that many people don’t understand the profound transformative possibilities Yoga has to offer, because instead they are treating it as a multi-course buffet, picking and choosing only one or two of the eight limbs of Ashtanga Yoga, for example. They do not realize that it is a holistic endeavor for self-development at all levels, as was intended by all the great Yogis, including Patanjali, Swami Vivekananda and others.”
