New Delhi, April 10 (UNI) Leading the Congress’ sharpest critique yet of the Centre’s renewed push on women’s reservation, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday warned that the government’s approach risks undermining parliamentary norms and masking deeper structural changes to India’s electoral system.
Opening the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, Kharge questioned both the timing and intent behind the proposed special session of Parliament scheduled from April 16 to 18.
Addressing senior leaders, he said the sudden urgency shown by the government after “a prolonged silence” raises serious concerns.
