"I would have come back with a medal from Rio" : Mary Kom

Shillong, Sep 6 (UNI) Five-time world boxing champion Mary Kom today said she would have won a medal at the Summer Olympics in Rio had she qualified the games.
“If I went (to the Rio Olympics), then definitely I would have come with a medal,” Mary Kom said a felicitation programme accorded to her by the North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) here in Meghalaya.
In March this year, the central university during its 23rd Convocation programme had conferred on Mary Kom with the degree of Doctor of Letters (D. Litt.) (Honoris Causa). However, she received the degree in absentia.
