'Gentle Giants Summit' forms committee for conservation of wild elephants

Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 17 (UNI) A steering-committee named 'Mathanga Manava Maitri' was constituted for the conservation of wild elephants and wild animals at the Gentle Giants Summit organized by the Voice for Asian Elephants Society, here on Sunday.
The steering-committee will help put an end to the torture against the wild elephants and wild animals, Sangita Iyer, executive director of Voice of Asian Elephant Society, said on the concluding day of the three-day summit.
"Awareness campaigns are needed to resolve the current issues. As a primary step, awareness classes should be conducted at school and college levels. This is the easiest thing to as compared to educating the older generation," Sangita Iyer said.
