'Exodus' from MP village

Bhopal, Jan 19 (UNI) In the wake of a news report regarding an alleged exodus of Hindus from Ratlam district's Surana village, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister and government spokesman Narottam Mishra assured on Wednesday that he would speak with the administration regarding security of the victims and nobody would be allowed to create an atmosphere of trepidation in the state, which is an isle of peace.
"We have taken cognisance of the extremely-worrisome matter. Let people rest assured," he told media in the state capital.
Some Surana-resident families submitted a memorandum - addressed to the Chief Minister - to the authorities. It accused members of a certain community - present in sizeable number at the village - of triggering disputes and vitiatiting communal harmony. The affected persons urged that they be granted lease elsewhere.

UP: Six get lifer for murder of BSP MLA Raju Pal in 2005
