'Election Commission should be allowed to take call on Bihar Elections' : Modi

'Election Commission should be allowed to take call on Bihar Elections' : Modi

Patna, Jul 11 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today came down

heavily on opposition parries for making statements to defer Bihar Assembly Elections,

saying the matter should be left to Election Commission.

Mr Modi tweeted that it was still three months left for Bihar Assembly Elections slated

to be held for October- November this year but opposition parties appeared to be in

desperation to defer this vital democratic process.

"What would be the scenario of Corona virus infection after three months, was not

known to anyone, so there was no reason for opposition parties to make much hue

and cry over the issue and place the expected worst scenario as ground to defer the

election," he added.

Mr Modi said that Election Commission should be allowed to take call on the issue

after making assessment of all aspects before taking final decision on Election in Bihar.

It was improper on the part of opposition parties to raise questions over preparations

being done by the commission for election, he added

Deputy Chief Minister said that the behaviour of opposition parties was like weak

students who always prayed to defer the examination.

NDA was well prepared to face Bihar Assembly Elections irrespective of the fact

that it was held as per schedule or deferred due to Corona virus, he added.
