New Delhi, Jan 5 (UNI) The Aamir Khan-starrer Dangal continues its glorious run at the box office, entering the coveted Rs 300-crore club in just 13 days of its release, trade experts said today. Dangal, co-written and directed by Nitesh Tiwari, has become the highest grossing film of 2016, surpassing the lifetime collection of 'Sultan' which made Rs 300.45 crore at the domestic box office. It has also become the first ever Bollywood film to reach the coveted Rs 300-crore mark in 13 days. Released on Christmas, 'Dangal,' which also stars Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra, Sakshi Tanwar, Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar in key roles, is now the fourth entrant to the Rs 300 crore club after 'PK,' 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Sultan'. 'Dangal' is enjoying a tax-free status in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, which is immensely benefitting its business at the ticket windows. Riding on the strong buzz around it, the outstanding acts by Aamir and Fatima Sana Sheikh and rave reviews by critics, 'Dangal ' has got phenomenal response at the box office. It earned Rs 29.78 crore on its opening day across India, trade sources said. It is based on life of India's champion wrestler Mahavir Phogat who battles the tradition of patriarchy to train his daughters Geeta and Babita to realise his dream of making them international wrestling champions.
