'Dangal' crosses Rs 800-cr in China, Rahman congratulates Aamir

New Delhi, May 27 (UNI) Continuing its success March at the Chinese box office, Aamir khan's 'Dangal' has crossed the Rs 800-crore mark in China and is slowly inching towards the Rs 1,600-crore mark in terms of worldwide earnings, trade sources said.
The film has also become the first cinematic venture from India to gross over Rs 1,000-crore overseas.
Music maestro AR Rahman congratulated Aamir and the team of ‘Dangal’ for winning over hearts of people of China.
'Congrats @aamir_khan and team Dangal for winning over Chinese hearts again,' Rahman said in a tweet.
'Dangal' now has earnings of around Rs 810-crore in China.
The film has also collected Rs 31-crore in Taiwan.
The film has grossed around 1,043-crore at the overseas and has become the first Indian film to achieve this feat.
'Dangal' currently stands with a total of Rs 1,585-crore at the box office worldwide and is inching towards the Rs 1,600-crore mark.
'Dangal' has become the 2nd Indian film to cross the 1,500-crore mark worldwide after 'Baahubali 2'.
However, Aamir Khan says it’s unfair to compare his film 'Dangal' with SS Rajamouli’s 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion', as both of them have their own spaces.
'I am really happy that ‘Dangal' is getting appreciated in China and all over the world.
I don’t think we should compare two films.
‘Baahubali 2' is a very successful film.
I haven’t watched it yet but I am hearing a lot of good stuff about it from everyone around me.
I would like to congratulate Rajamouli and his entire team,'Amir said.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced under the banners of UTV Motion Pictures and Aamir Khan Productions, 'Dangal' also features Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim, Suhani Bhatnagar and Sakshi Tanwar in key roles.
'Dangal' is the third film by Aamir, after 3 Idiots and PK, to evoke a strong response in China.
