'Antar-Darshan' art exhibition: Journey of soul searching

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) With an aim to give a platform to young artists and to make art affordable and accessible to the public and collectors with variable pockets and tastes, National Institute of Fine Art (NIFA) has organised a seven-day annual art exhibition of their students, "Antar-Darshan" at All India Fine Art and Craft Society (AIFACS) premises here.

Curated by Renu Khera, the seven-day annual exhibition celebrates successful year of art students, their hard work in all its colour and forms.

Prof Biman B Das (Eminent Artist and Chairman, AIFACS), Paramjeet Singh (Eminent Artist and former Chairperson, AIFACS),Sandeep Marwah (Director, AAFT), Niladri Paul (Well known artist), etc were present during the inauguration.

All the guests were touched by the works of these students.

'We are organising a group show of 40 upcoming art students, showcasing various works in different mediums like charcoal on paper, acrylic on canvas, oil on canvas, water colour and mix mediums. Each student is showcasing original creative artworks in different mediums,' Director Renu Khera said.

Ms Khera said,'we believe, such platforms and exhibitions are confidence boosting and give students the much needed exposure. This works as a learning experience for them as they can showcase their creativity to all the art lovers, which not just boost confidence but also encourage them for good work and adopting social and practical knowledge.'

This is an exhibition cum sale show open for the public and the media to enable the visitors to interact with artists and experts on a single platform.

'Besides collectors, connoisseurs, artists, dealers, experts, gallerist art enthusiasts, hospitality businesses and corporate houses from the business hub in Gurgaon, Delhi and elsewhere have all been invited to partake of the important artistic highlights,' she added.

The beauty of this exhibition is that curator Renu Khera and NIFA does not take any percentage of sale from students.

Prof Biman B Das said, 'I am amazed to see the work, it shows the creativity and deep intensity of their thoughts. At this young age they are able to express their imagination very strongly and I hope they will certainly make it big in future.'

An elated art lover, Mr Marwah said, 'we have no shortage of talent in our country and art & culture plays a huge role in overall development of an individual. I believe in providing platforms to raw talents as well as one who are passionate towards an art form. I am impressed with the works by the young artists' thinking and their art skills. They have done a wonderful job.'

He applauded the efforts of NIFA and its team for such a lovely exhibition.
