'Aap fir bane pradhan mantri (My best wishes are that you become Prime Minister again),' he said, speaking during his valedictory speech as the last working session day of the 16th Lok Sabha.
Congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said 'Main aapko badhai deta hoon (I congratulate you). I wish all members that they return to this House.'
Mr Yadav said the Prime Minister worked taking along everybody.
The Prime Minister smilingly thanked him with folded hands and also referred to Mr Mualayam Singh Yadav's 'blessing' during his response.
Mr Yadav conveyed his wishes three times amid thumping of desks, especially by the treasury benches as this implied that the NDA would return with the same majority.
Supriya Sule of the NCP remembered late Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar.
'I pay deep homage to Ananth Kumar ji who was on the other side,' she said.
Harsimrat Kaur Badal of the SAD thanked the Prime Minister for things done for the Sikh Community and the Speaker Sumitra Mahajan for the commendable job in running the House.
Speaker Mahajan has a soft face but showed that she was made of steel, Ms Badal said.

She thanked the Prime Minister for removing GST from the 'langar' (community kitchen), which all governments had imposed as central tax for past 70 years.
She commended Mr Modi for Kartarpur Corridor and the SIT formed for the 1984 riots victims.
Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, LJP, described the Prime Minister as 'soft from inside' although he looked tough externally.
He said there was no vacancy for the Prime Minister's post in 2019 and lauded all the schemes rolled out by the government.
Among others H D Deve Gowda (JD-S) and Anandrao Adsul (Shiv Sena) also spoke.
