New Delhi, Mar 23 (UNI) A number of countries have bilaterally expressed official affirmations of support for India’s candidature to a permanent seat in an expanded United Nations Security Council, including four of the P5, namely USA, UK, France and Russia, Parliament was told.
Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan, told the Rajya Sabha, that the Government of India has been according the highest priority to obtain a permanent membership for India in an expanded UNSC.
An expanded UN Security Council is at the core of the issues raised by India and other countries that are calling for UNSC reforms.
