Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 12 (UNI) About 135 leprosy cases were newly detected so far as part of 'Aswamedham Leprosy Case Detection Campaign' in Kerala, and those who are diagnosed with the disease are being treated, Health Minister KK Shailaja has said.
The two-week campaign held in eight districts covered 62,51,587 houses and leprosy detection test was conducted on 2,21,13,795 people, the Minister said.
"The campaign helped to detect 135 leprosy affected people who could not have been traced otherwise," State Leprosy Officer (DHS) Dr Padmalatha told UNI here on Saturday.
